Pixelate or blur a face, plate or text
Censor part of an image before you share it. Because Kiln Photo runs locally, the unredacted original is never uploaded anywhere.
Pixelate part of an image No sign-up. Files never leave your device.
How to pixelate or blur a face
- Click Pixelate part of an image and open the picture. The Rectangular Marquee is selected.
- Drag a box over the face, plate or text (hold Shift to add more boxes).
- Choose Filter › Pixelate › Mosaic and set a cell size large enough that it can't be read, or use Filter › Blur › Gaussian Blur.
- Export as a new file so your original stays untouched.
Good to know
Light blur can sometimes be reversed. For sensitive text, paint over it with a solid colour (Edit › Fill) instead.
