Crop an image online, free
Cut a photo down to the part that matters, at a free-form size or a fixed ratio such as 1:1 for profile pictures or 16:9 for thumbnails. You can straighten a tilted horizon in the same step.
Crop an image No sign-up. Files never leave your device.
How to crop an image
- Click Crop an image and open your photo with File › Open or by dropping it on the canvas. The Crop tool is already selected.
- In the options bar choose a ratio (1:1, 4:5, 16:9…) or leave it on Ratio blank to crop freely.
- Drag the handles to frame your shot. Drag outside the box to rotate and straighten.
- Press Enter to apply, then save with File › Export As.
Tips
- Turn off Delete Cropped Pixels to keep the hidden area so you can re-crop later.
- Hold Shift while dragging a corner to keep the current proportions.
Questions
How do I crop to a circle?
Use the Elliptical Marquee tool with Shift held to draw a circle, then Image › Crop and add a layer mask from the selection. Export as PNG to keep the corners transparent.
Can I crop a PSD without flattening it?
Yes. Cropping keeps every layer, and you can save back to PSD.
