Edit a photo together, live

Kiln Photo can turn any document into a shared one. Everyone who opens the link edits the same layered image at the same time: each finished step (a brush stroke, a filter, a new layer) shows up for everyone within a moment.

Open the editor No sign-up. A shared document is kept in its room until 30 days after the last visit.

How to edit a photo together

  1. Open or create the image you want to work on.
  2. Click Share in the bar on the right edge of the editor, type your name, and click Share this document.
  3. Copy the Edit link and send it to your collaborators. Send the View-only link to people who should only watch.
  4. Edit as usual. Each step syncs when you finish it, and the coloured name chips show who is in the document.
  5. Add a comment in the Comments box; it is pinned to the canvas as a note everyone sees.

Tips

  • Edit › Undo only takes back your own steps, never someone else's.
  • Each person keeps their own selection, so you can select different areas at the same time.
  • Opening the edit link again later brings back the latest version, so the link also works as a way to keep a document in the cloud.

Questions

Do collaborators need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can join; choose a name in the Share panel so others know who you are.

What happens when two people edit the same layer?

The edit that reaches the room last wins for that layer. Working on separate layers avoids surprises.

How long is a shared document kept?

Until 30 days after the last time anyone opens it. Use File › Save As to keep your own copy.
