Crop a video
The Crop effect trims any edge of the picture; Scale in Motion then fills the frame.
Crop a video No sign-up. Files never leave your device.
How to crop a video
- Click Crop a video, import your clip with File › Import (Ctrl/Cmd+I) and drag it onto the timeline.
- Switch to the Effects workspace (Window › Workspaces › Effects, Alt+Shift+4), find Crop in the Effects panel and drag it onto the clip.
- In Effect Controls, raise the crop values for the edges you want to cut, then raise Scale under Motion to fill the frame.
- Press Ctrl/Cmd+M (File › Export › Export), choose H.264 in an MP4, and click Export.
Tips
- To change the shape of the whole video (e.g. to square), make a new sequence at that size and use Scale to Frame Size.
